MSC World Asia to Debut New Pan-Asian Dining Concept

Pan Asian Street Food at MSC World Asia

GENEVA, Switzerland – 2 July 2026 –  MSC Cruises has revealed a new Pan-Asian dining concept for MSC World Asia, combining a speciality restaurant, bar and lounge, and complimentary street food window within one venue.

According to the official press release, the three-in-one concept will debut when MSC World Asia begins seven-night Mediterranean cruises on 4 December 2026. The ship will feature 40 bars, lounges, cafés and restaurants, including 19 dining venues.

Inspired by street food markets across Southeast Asia, the new venue will bring together food, live cooking, design, music and artwork in a setting influenced by Indonesia, Singapore, South China, Thailand and Vietnam.

Three dining formats within one venue

The concept has been designed to offer different dining formats throughout the day.

Its speciality restaurant will provide indoor seating and a casual rooftop terrace. Guests can select an appetiser, main course and dessert from a menu of Pan-Asian dishes influenced by communal dining traditions.

Menu examples include Singapore-style shrimp, shiitake mushroom fried rice and wok-fired dishes. Drinks will include Asian bottled beers such as Tsingtao, Chang and Bintang, alongside bubble teas, smoothies and fruit juices.

The venue’s separate bar and lounge will serve Southeast Asian-inspired cocktails developed to complement the food menu. Options will include jasmine mojitos, rose and strawberry daiquiris, and matcha coladas.

A complimentary on-the-go window will offer daytime street food-style bites for guests seeking a quicker option. The selection will include seafood balls, bao buns and other small dishes.

Live cooking and design shape the experience

MSC Cruises said the venue will use its décor, soundtrack, artwork and open-kitchen activity to reflect the atmosphere associated with Asian street markets.

Live cooking will form part of the dining experience, allowing guests to watch dishes being prepared while music and visual elements contribute to the setting.

Stéphane Franchini, Senior Director Food & Beverage Product, MSC Cruises, said: “With this new three-in-one venue, we are inviting guests to explore one of the world’s most exciting food cultures in a way that is vibrant, welcoming and full of flavor. From the diverse range of dishes to the atmosphere of the space and the expertise of Chefs Xiao Wang and Luca Césarini, every detail has been carefully designed to create a truly immersive culinary journey.

“It reflects our ambition to offer greater choice, seamless convenience and more memorable moments through food.”

The concept has been developed with Chefs Xiao Wang and Luca Césarini. Chef Xiao, who has roots in Shanghai, has worked with international hospitality groups and restaurants and has helped develop Asian dining concepts for MSC Cruises. Chef Césarini has worked in international kitchens, including in Shanghai and Thailand, and brings experience across Asian and global culinary styles.

MSC World Asia to offer 19 dining venues

MSC World Asia will feature six speciality restaurants, six main dining concepts, an exclusive MSC Yacht Club restaurant, and a range of fast-casual and on-the-go options.

Other speciality venues will include Butcher’s Cut, the cruise line’s American-style steakhouse, and Kaito Sushi Bar, serving sushi and other Asian dishes.

Kaito Teppanyaki will offer four cooking stations where guests can watch Japanese dishes prepared in front of them, while Hola! Tacos & Cantina will serve Latin American and Mexican-inspired food and drinks.

MSC Cruises has also confirmed a new Mediterranean restaurant for the ship, although further details have not yet been released.

The Pan-Asian venue will be the first concept of its kind in the MSC Cruises fleet. Its three formats are intended to allow guests to choose between a full speciality meal, drinks in the lounge or complimentary food to take away during the day.

MSC World Asia will begin service in December 2026, operating seven-night Mediterranean itineraries.
