Celebrity River Cruises is Celebrity Cruises’ entry into European river cruising, built around an all-new fleet of purpose-designed vessels rather than chartered tonnage. The brand positioning is clear: it aims to “redefine” river cruising by importing signature Celebrity concepts—especially modern accommodation layouts and standout bar-and-dining experiences—into a smaller-ship, destination-immersive format.

The first two ships, Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, are designed around view-forward accommodation, including the line’s new Skylight Infinite Balcony Suites and a river adaptation of Celebrity’s signature “Infinite Veranda” concept. Public spaces are planned to be more open and deck-centric than typical river ships, including an infinity-edge plunge pool and a top deck restaurant and bar intended to function as an all-day social hub.

The initial programme focuses on the Rhine and Danube with 33 seven-night sailings in the inaugural season, including festive departures timed around Christmas markets and New Year’s, alongside classic city pairings like Basel–Amsterdam and Bavaria–Budapest. Celebrity has also signalled that Europe is just the start, with leadership indicating the river brand will expand beyond European waterways in future seasons.
