Cordelia Begins Two-Ship Operations from Mumbai and Kochi

Cordelia Begins Two-Ship Operations in India

MUMBAI, 26 October 2026 – Cordelia Cruises has begun operating two ships simultaneously from two Indian homeports for the first time, with Cordelia Sky now sailing from Mumbai and Cordelia Empress starting her season from Kochi.

The expanded operation increases deployed capacity across the cruise line’s domestic and international network, with weekend sailings, Goa and Lakshadweep cruises, and international itineraries to the Maldives and Sri Lanka operating from the two homeports.

Nearly 6,000 guests handled in Mumbai turnaround

The scale of the two-ship operation was visible in Mumbai on 23 October, when Cordelia Sky and Cordelia Empress were handled at the port on the same day. Across the two ships, nearly 6,000 guests embarked and disembarked during the turnaround.

Cordelia Sky departed Mumbai on her inaugural guest sailing, while Cordelia Empress continued towards Kochi, her new homeport. The two ships also sailed together off India’s western coast before continuing on their respective journeys.

Jurgen Bailom, President & CEO, Cordelia Cruises, said:

“Seeing Cordelia Sky and Cordelia Empress sailing together was a very special moment for all of us. Five years ago, we began with a vision to make cruising a holiday choice for more Indians. Today, we have two ships sailing from two homeports, giving our guests more destinations, more itineraries and more ways to experience a holiday at sea. Mumbai has been central to our journey from the beginning, and adding Kochi as a homeport allows us to take cruising closer to many more travellers across India.”

Cordelia Sky expands Mumbai programme

Cordelia Sky is now sailing from Mumbai following its first guest departure on 23 October. The ship’s programme includes two- and three-night weekend cruises, four-night Lakshadweep sailings and five-night itineraries combining destinations including Goa and Lakshadweep.

Cordelia Sky accommodates 2,280 guests at full occupancy across 1,002 staterooms, including 245 Mini Suites, 11 Penthouse Suites and four Chairman’s Suites. The ship also offers dining, production shows, live entertainment, sport, wellness and open-air experiences.

Cordelia Empress begins Kochi season

Cordelia Empress has started sailing from Kochi, adding another homeport to Cordelia Cruises’ India network. Its programme includes two-night weekend sailings, three- and four-night Lakshadweep cruises and a five-night international itinerary linking Kochi with Malé in the Maldives and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

The Kochi season also expands Cordelia’s Lakshadweep programme, with sailings giving guests access to Kavaratti and Minicoy across shorter and longer itineraries.

Fleet expansion to continue in 2027

The start of the two-ship operation follows Cordelia Sky’s arrival in India, the Cordelia Sky Cruise Premiere and its first guest sailing.

Ahead of that departure, guests, officers and crew took part in a Cordelia Sky Welcome Ceremony on the pool deck, where the ship and those sailing aboard were collectively blessed. Cordelia Cruises said more than 800,000 guests have sailed with the line since operations began in 2021.

The fleet is scheduled to expand further in 2027, when Cordelia Sun is scheduled to join Cordelia Sky and Cordelia Empress.
