StarDream Cruises represents the consolidation and relaunch of Asia’s pioneering cruise brands under Genting Group’s Resorts World Cruises umbrella, bringing together over three decades of regional expertise. Formed in 2022 following the acquisition and restructuring of former Genting Hong Kong assets, it operates distinct sub-brands StarCruises and Dream Cruises, focusing on short-haul voyages tailored to Asian travellers’ preferences for weekend getaways and cultural immersion.
The line emphasises authentic regional hospitality, diverse itineraries to nearby destinations, and onboard features like halal-friendly dining that resonate with multi-generational Asian families. Its ships—recently refurbished with multimillion-dollar investments—offer a blend of Western-style amenities and Asian comforts, including expansive spas, themed entertainment, and family-oriented activities. StarDream has positioned itself as the go-to for convenient sailings from Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Vietnam, with growing interest in fly-cruise markets like the Middle East.
Operations are concentrated in Southeast Asia, with homeports in Singapore (year-round), Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and seasonal calls in Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The atmosphere is warm and sociable, with multilingual service (English, Mandarin, Bahasa) and entertainment reflecting local festivals and cuisines.
