Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is a German luxury and expedition cruise operator with a five-ship fleet serving both traditional ocean itineraries and expedition voyages.
The fleet comprises the luxury ships EUROPA and EUROPA 2, alongside the expedition vessels HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC inspiration and HANSEATIC spirit. Current programmes span Europe, the Americas, polar regions, Africa, Asia and other global destinations.
The brand combines smaller-ship luxury cruising with expedition operations, allowing it to serve both established ports and more remote destinations.
Latest fleet developments
The most recent fleet update concerns HANSEATIC spirit, which completed its first major scheduled docking period in Bremerhaven in June 2026.
The ten-day stay at the Lloyd shipyard included refurbishment work across public areas and the spa, replacement of carpets and tiles, and renewal of the vessel’s mandatory five-year ship safety certification. HANSEATIC spirit entered service in 2021 and is the newest vessel in the HANSEATIC class.
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is also promoting its 2027/28 programme across all five ships, including first-time port calls, route premieres and destinations returning after an extended absence.
