LOS ANGELES – 29 JULY 2026 – Viking® has taken delivery of Viking Dagur, its newest Viking Longship®, the company said on 29 July 2026. Built at Meyer’s Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock-Warnemünde, Germany, the 190-guest vessel will sail itineraries on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
Viking Dagur Joins Longship Fleet
Viking Dagur joins the company’s existing fleet of sister vessels. The river ship accommodates its 190 guests across 95 staterooms.
The ship incorporates Scandinavian design and several features used across the Viking Longship® fleet. These include a patented square bow, which enables the vessel to have three complete passenger decks.
Viking Dagur also features the indoor-outdoor Aquavit Terrace and an asymmetric corridor arrangement. Viking said the corridor configuration allows the ship to offer two-room suites.

European River Itineraries Confirmed
Viking Dagur will operate several of the company’s European river itineraries.
Its scheduled programme includes Rhine Getaway and Paris to the Swiss Alps, together with the seasonal Christmas on the Rhine and Christmas on the Rhine & Moselle itineraries.
The vessel’s deployment will take it along three of Europe’s principal rivers, covering the Rhine, Main and Danube.
Further Fleet Deliveries Planned
Viking also outlined the expected expansion of its river, ocean and expedition fleets under its committed orderbook.
The company expects to receive 21 additional river ships by 2028. If the scheduled deliveries proceed, Viking’s river fleet will comprise 114 vessels in 2028.
Its current orderbook also includes nine additional ocean ships and two additional expedition ships, all expected to be delivered by 2031. Viking said these orders would increase its combined ocean and expedition fleet to 26 vessels in 2031.
