LONDON, 15 September 2026: HX Expeditions has unveiled its 2028/29 season, featuring 57 voyages across 14 destinations worldwide, including 26 new itineraries, two destinations new to HX and five major product innovations, according to the company’s official release.
The programme introduces new expedition formats across Antarctica, Alaska, Greenland, Scandinavia and Arctic Canada, alongside nine Ocean Crossing voyages linking the Arctic and Antarctica. It also includes Antarctic departures from Stanley in the Falkland Islands, a new Antarctica and South Georgia itinerary, shorter sailings in Alaska and Greenland, HX’s first dedicated Scandinavia programme and a new Baffin Island circumnavigation.

New Alaska and Antarctic itineraries
In Alaska, HX will introduce two eight-day, seven-night Alaska’s Inside Passage – Wilderness & Culture expeditions operating between Vancouver and Sitka in both directions. The voyages replace the previous 10- and 13-day itineraries and include five full days in Southeast Alaska with one sea day.
As the northbound and southbound routes do not share ports, they can be combined into a 15-day Vancouver-to-Vancouver expedition without repeating a destination. HX will also add two 17-day Aleutians to Katmai: Wild Alaska Revealed voyages between Vancouver and Whittier, with Kake added to the northbound itinerary and Elfin Cove to the southbound route.
For Antarctica, the new 19-day Antarctica & South Georgia – Kingdoms of Ice and Wildlife itinerary combines South Georgia with the Antarctic Peninsula. HX will also operate In-Depth Antarctica, Falklands & South Georgia Expedition departures from Stanley, marking the first time in more than a decade that a major cruise company has used the Falkland Islands as a gateway to Antarctica.
Scandinavia and Arctic Canada expand
HX’s 2028/29 programme will include its first sailings into the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Bothnia aboard MS Spitsbergen. Sweden & Finland: Autumn in the Gulf of Bothnia will operate northbound and southbound between Sweden and Finland, including the UNESCO-listed Kvarken Archipelago and coastal communities in both countries.
Southern Scandinavia: Between Norwegian Fjords and Swedish Isles will connect Copenhagen and Bergen in both directions, visiting Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Norway Cape to Cape – Beyond the Arctic Circle will run from Lindesnes to the North Cape.
In Arctic Canada, HX will launch the 19-day Into the Northwest Passage – Circumnavigating Baffin Island. The voyage is scheduled to attempt a transit of the Fury and Hecla Strait and will include visits to communities such as Qikiqtarjuaq and Kinngait.
Greenland, Svalbard and Ocean Crossings
Greenland gains a new eight-day, seven-night Discovering West Greenland – Icebergs & Communities of Disko Bay itinerary, operating via Nuuk with no sea days. The voyage includes Disko Bay, the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord, Kangaamiut and Maniitsoq.
HX will also offer Exploring the Garden of Greenland voyages between Reykjavik and Nuuk. Across the wider Greenland programme, itineraries will range from eight to 15 days.
The company plans 23 Svalbard departures in 2028, extending its operating season there into September for the first time. MS Spitsbergen and MS Fram will operate core Svalbard voyages, while Arctic Islands Discovery – Svalbard, Jan Mayen, Greenland and Iceland will return. HX will also continue its year-round Galápagos programme aboard MS Santa Cruz II, with established itineraries including Galápagos Islands – In Darwin’s Footsteps and Galápagos Islands – Nine of the Best Isles, alongside voyage extensions incorporating Machu Picchu.
Nine new Ocean Crossing voyages will also join the programme, spanning Atlantic and Pacific routes. Selected port calls include Bermuda, Cape Verde, Salvador, Recife and Golfito, while additional sailings include Seville via the Guadalquivir River and Pacific calls at Huatulco and La Paz.
Across the 2028/29 season, HX lists 1,288 ports of call, an average voyage length of 11 nights and a shortest voyage of six nights. Its longest voyage will cover 25 nights and 6,650 nautical miles.
