MUMBAI, 25 September 2026 – Cordelia Cruises has shared a behind-the-scenes look at Cordelia Sky in a floating dry dock, where the ship’s hull is being cleaned, painted and prepared ahead of its planned deployment in India.
The 77,000-tonne cruise ship is also receiving its new Cordelia identity, with branding work taking shape across the vessel. The drydock has provided access to areas normally below the waterline, including the propellers, rudder and support blocks, before they disappear underwater again when the ship returns to service.
Hull work and new Cordelia identity underway
During the drydock period, Cordelia Sky’s hull is being cleaned, painted and prepared. The vessel is also receiving its new Cordelia identity as part of the preparations for service. Cordelia Cruises has shared images and video showing work taking place both around the exterior of the ship and beneath the hull while the vessel remains out of the water.
The drydock provides access to components that are normally submerged when the ship is operating, including its propellers and rudder. Cordelia Cruises has used the updates to show the engineering and maintenance work involved in preparing the vessel before its arrival in India.
Cordelia Sky set for October entry into service
Cordelia Sky is scheduled to begin sailing from Mumbai in October 2026, expanding Cordelia Cruises’ existing Indian cruise programme. The vessel’s inaugural sailing is currently scheduled to depart Mumbai on 23 October for a three-night itinerary calling at Goa before returning to Mumbai.
Further sailings during the inaugural season include short itineraries from Mumbai and Goa, with destinations including Goa and Lakshadweep. Cordelia has also outlined plans for the ship to operate seven-night Southeast Asia cruises from Chennai in 2027.
Ship to offer more than 1,000 staterooms
Cordelia Cruises has previously confirmed that Cordelia Sky will feature 1,002 staterooms and capacity for more than 2,400 guests. Onboard facilities are set to include two swimming pools, five hot tubs, 11 bars and lounges and 10 restaurants. The ship will also feature a sports court, gaming arcade, entertainment shows, a spa and fitness centre.
These facilities form part of the onboard product being prepared ahead of the vessel’s first season with Cordelia Cruises.
Drydock prepares ship for Indian deployment
The latest updates focus on the work taking place before the ship begins carrying guests rather than introducing additional changes to its previously announced deployment.
Cordelia Cruises has highlighted the below-waterline work as part of its wider coverage of the ship’s transition into the fleet, showing sections of Cordelia Sky that will no longer be visible once the vessel returns to the water. With the hull being cleaned and painted and the ship’s Cordelia identity taking shape, the drydock represents the final preparation phase ahead of its scheduled October deployment.
Cordelia Sky’s first published itinerary is due to depart Mumbai on 23 October 2026, beginning the vessel’s inaugural season with the Indian cruise line.
