27 October 2026 – Carnival Cruise Line has outlined repositioning voyages for Carnival Adventure and Carnival Luminosa as the two ships conclude their Australia programmes in March 2028.
Carnival Adventure will operate three itineraries as it travels from Sydney to Seattle via Asia, while Carnival Luminosa will sail from Sydney to Los Angeles on a 23-day repositioning cruise.
Carnival Adventure to sail via Asia
Carnival Adventure will depart Sydney on 20 March 2028 on a 19-day voyage to Tokyo. The itinerary will include destinations in Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Taipei, Taiwan and Japan.
Following its arrival in Tokyo, the ship will operate an eight-day roundtrip voyage from the Japanese capital departing 8 April 2028. Highlights will include Busan, South Korea, and Mount Fuji.
Carnival Adventure will then begin a 15-day Transpacific voyage from Tokyo to Seattle on 16 April 2028.
Carnival Luminosa to reposition to Los Angeles
Carnival Luminosa will depart Sydney on 15 March 2028 for a 23-day repositioning cruise to Los Angeles. The voyage will include calls in Hawaii and French Polynesia as the ship crosses the Pacific.
The sailing forms part of Carnival Luminosa’s departure from Australia in March 2028.
Australia sailings continue through March 2028
Carnival Cruise Line said both ships will continue sailing in Australia until March 2028.
“With Carnival Adventure and Carnival Luminosa continuing to sail in Australia through to March 2028, guests and travel agents still have an extensive range of itineraries to choose from across our four ships over the next 17 months,” said Carnival Cruise Line’s Asst Vice President Anton Loeb.
The repositioning voyages for Carnival Adventure and Carnival Luminosa are scheduled to go on sale later in the week of the announcement.
Carnival Cruise Line directed guests to its Australian website, local travel agents and telephone reservations for further booking information.
