MIAMI, Florida – 15 September 2026 – Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled the entertainment programme for Norwegian Aura ahead of the ship’s May 2027 debut. The line-up is led by a new production celebrating Whitney Houston, according to the cruise line’s official release.
Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston has been developed with The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and Primary Wave Music. The 45-minute production will be staged in the ship’s three-storey Aura Theatre & Club, combining live vocals, a live band, visual elements and performances extending beyond the main stage.
The wider programme will introduce The Vinyl Republic™ and ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed™, alongside the return of LunaTique: Pop Circus™.
Whitney Houston production to headline Aura Theatre & Club
The new show will feature songs including “It’s Not Right, But It’s OK”, “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)”. Norwegian Cruise Line said the production will use contemporary arrangements and stagecraft to present Houston’s catalogue in a concert format created for the ship.
The release notes Houston’s career achievements, including more than 220 million records sold worldwide, seven consecutive No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and six Grammy Awards.
“Every new ship is an opportunity for Norwegian Cruise Line to push the boundaries of what entertainment at sea can be,” said Bryan White, vice president of entertainment production at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.
The production follows music-led shows developed for Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, which celebrate Prince and Elton John respectively.
ILLUMINOX and The Vinyl Republic join programme
Norwegian Aura will also introduce ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed™, a 45-minute production combining large-scale illusions, acrobatics, original music and visual effects in the Aura Theatre & Club.
The Vinyl Republic™ will serve as the ship’s new live music collective, performing music across country, rock, funk, blues and pop. It will headline two experiences in the Aura Theatre & Club: The Vinyl Republic’s Journey Through Rock, centred on Journey and the arena-rock era, and The Vinyl Republic’s Kickin’ It Country™, featuring contemporary country music and interactive line dancing.
The collective will also perform elsewhere aboard Norwegian Aura, including the Penrose Atrium and Improv at Sea.
Adults-only LunaTique returns
LunaTique: Pop Circus™ will return after debuting aboard Norwegian Luna. The adults-only experience combines cabaret, circus performance and nightlife and will be presented in the Aura Theatre & Club with new acts and music. The experience carries an additional charge and includes cocktails paired with the performances.
Norwegian Aura will also offer Aura FIRST NIGHT™, a welcome showcase introducing the ship’s entertainment programme, and Latin LIVE!™, a poolside event featuring live percussion, vocal performances, dance and Latin music.
Miami inaugural season follows European sailings
Before beginning its inaugural Miami season, Norwegian Aura is scheduled to sail a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Barcelona on 21 May 2027, calling at Valletta, Salerno and Rome (Civitavecchia). A 13-day transatlantic sailing from Barcelona to Miami will follow.
From June through October 2027, the ship will operate seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries from Miami, visiting Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay. For winter 2027/28, Norwegian Aura will switch to Western Caribbean sailings calling at Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Harvest Caye.
