JUNEAU, Alaska – 22 July 2026: Disney Cruise Line and Huna Totem Corporation have signed a 15-year agreement providing the cruise line with preferential access to Icy Strait Point through at least 2041, according to an official joint press release issued by the two organisations.
The agreement gives Disney Cruise Line preferential docking rights for one ship each week and incorporates a minimum annual passenger guarantee. It will support future Alaska itineraries calling at the Indigenous-owned cruise destination near Hoonah in Southeast Alaska.
The two organisations said the agreement reflects their shared commitment to supporting regional tourism while enabling cruise guests to experience Southeast Alaska’s culture, heritage and natural surroundings.
Agreement Extends Relationship at Icy Strait Point
Disney Cruise Line has included Icy Strait Point in selected Alaska itineraries for almost a decade. The new agreement extends that relationship for a further 15 years and establishes docking arrangements for weekly calls.
“Icy Strait Point has been a valued part of our Alaska itineraries for nearly a decade, offering Disney Cruise Line guests an opportunity to experience the natural beauty, wildlife and rich cultural heritage of Hoonah and the broader Southeast Alaska region,” said Jose Fernandez, Vice President, Port Strategy, Development & Operations, Disney Cruise Line. “This agreement will help ensure our guests can continue to enjoy the unique experiences that have made Icy Strait Point a fan-favorite destination.”
Icy Strait Point is situated on the shores of Hoonah and was developed by Huna Totem Corporation to offer experiences connected with Huna Tlingit culture. Wildlife viewing and outdoor recreation are also among the activities available at the destination.

The cruise port is Hoonah’s largest employer. Huna Totem Corporation created the destination to support the local community while presenting Alaska experiences to visiting cruise passengers.
Weekly Docking Access Included
Under the agreement, Disney Cruise Line will receive preferential docking for one vessel per week. The arrangement also includes a guaranteed minimum number of passengers each year, although the companies did not disclose the required figure.
Disney Cruise Line expanded its Alaska deployment to two ships in 2026. Selected seven-night itineraries aboard Disney Magic and Disney Wonder include calls at Icy Strait Point.
Community Initiatives Continue in Southeast Alaska
Disney Cruise Line said it remains focused on operating responsibly and increasing its contribution to the communities visited by its ships as the fleet grows.
In recent years, the company has supported community-led programmes across Southeast Alaska. These initiatives have addressed food security, youth development and environmental stewardship, as well as leadership development and workforce preparation for young people in the region.
Huna Totem Corporation is an Alaska Native corporation representing more than 1,850 shareholders with Indigenous connections to Glacier Bay and Hoonah. It opened Icy Strait Point as its first tourism business in 2004. The destination has since welcomed more than four million cruise passengers. The corporation’s tourism portfolio has also expanded to include developments in Klawock and Whittier.
