Holland America Line Oosterdam Ship

SEATTLE – 6 July 2026Holland America Line has announced its 2027-28 Caribbean programme, featuring 29 itineraries across 47 departures between October 2027 and March 2028. According to the official press release, the season will cover 35 ports in 25 countries and territories, with cruises ranging from five-day breaks to a 28-day extended voyage.

The programme includes sailings through the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean, as well as Panama Canal itineraries. Nearly every departure is scheduled to visit RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Holland America Line’s private island in the Bahamas.

“We’ve built this season to give guests more ways to experience the Caribbean, whether they are looking for a quick getaway or a longer journey that explores more of the region,” said Paul Grigsby, vice president, deployment and revenue planning for Holland America Line. “With more Caribbean itineraries of nine days or longer than any other cruise line, guests have more time to explore each destination and relax at our private island and with signature experiences on board.”

Cruises range from five to 28 days

Shorter options include five and six-day voyages aboard Zuiderdam and Eurodam, sailing round trip from Fort Lauderdale. Seven and eight-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries will be operated by Eurodam, Rotterdam and Zuiderdam from Fort Lauderdale or Miami.

These sailings feature destinations such as Nassau, Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Key West, San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten, alongside calls at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay.

Longer voyages of nine to 12 days will explore the ABC Islands, the Greater Antilles, Belize, Mexico and the Windward and Leeward Islands. Ports featured across the programme include Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Cartagena, Grand Cayman, Martinique, Antigua, Dominica, St. Kitts and Puerto Limón.

Selected 12-day Panama Canal Discovery itineraries aboard Volendam or Oosterdam will include a partial transit of the canal and time on Gatun Lake.

Reimagined Oosterdam joins Caribbean deployment

Oosterdam will begin operating in the Caribbean in December 2027 following a planned transformation under Holland America Line’s fleet-wide Evolution investment.

The ship will introduce new accommodation categories, including Solo Verandah staterooms with private balconies and dedicated workspaces. Bridgeview Suites will offer panoramic sea views and expanded living areas, while Vista Suites will be added to the ship for the first time.

The refurbishment will also introduce Grand Dutch Café, an all-day venue influenced by Holland America Line’s Dutch heritage. Oosterdam will operate longer Southern Caribbean and Panama Canal itineraries during the season.

RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay receives new facilities

Planned additions at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay include a new beach club with waiter service, priority tendering, upgraded seating and exclusive food and beverage options.

Further changes include a refreshed Lobster Shack, additional island-specific menu items, expanded cabanas and villas, new retail facilities and upgraded beach amenities. Pickleball will also be introduced, while available shore activities will include kayaking, horseback riding and snorkelling with stingrays.

Pan Am voyage traces historic Caribbean routes

Zuiderdam will operate a 28-day Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage from Miami on 30 October 2027. Developed in partnership with Pan Am, the round-trip cruise will visit 19 ports across 13 countries.

The itinerary will follow routes associated with the airline’s historic Clipper flying boats. Calls include Nassau and San Juan, which were early hubs in Pan Am’s Caribbean network, as well as Willemstad, Cartagena and Colón.

Holland America Line will also offer eight holiday cruises during the season. These include a seven-day Eastern Caribbean voyage aboard Rotterdam and an 11-day Southern Caribbean sailing aboard the reimagined Oosterdam, both departing Fort Lauderdale on 22 December 2027.
