FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — December 16, 2025

Princess Cruises has secured a major win for sports fans looking to travel next summer, announcing today that it will broadcast every single match of the FIFA World Cup 26™ across its entire 17-ship fleet. Through a new rights agreement with IMG, guests sailing in June and July 2026 will not have to choose between their summer vacation and the world’s most-watched sporting event.

The tournament, which runs from June 11 through July 19, 2026, features 104 matches hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Princess Cruises has confirmed that all matches will be available live via Sport 24 Special Event Channels directly on in-stateroom TVs. For a more communal atmosphere, select marquee matchups will also be broadcast on the giant outdoor screens located on the Lido Decks of each ship.

“Pitch-Perfect Vacations” at Sea

The initiative, dubbed “Pitch-Perfect Vacations,” is designed to alleviate the “FOMO” (fear of missing out) that often plagues sports enthusiasts during major global tournaments. By ensuring connectivity to the games, Princess is positioning itself as the premier choice for soccer fans who want to combine travel with their passion for the sport.

“The FIFA World Cup™ is one of the most fan-driven global events, and our guests shouldn’t have to choose between exploring the world and watching the world’s best teams compete,” said Lorna Warren, Princess Cruises Vice President of Hotel Operations and Guest Experience. “By bringing live coverage to all 17 ships, we’re making sure fans can experience incredible destinations and cheer on every match whether they’re soaking up the sun in the Caribbean, taking in the Mediterranean coast, or sailing past glaciers in Alaska.”

A Stadium Atmosphere on the Ocean

Beyond just showing the games, the cruise line plans to recreate the electric atmosphere of the stadium onboard. Planned activities include themed viewing parties where guests are encouraged to don their national team jerseys and rally together.

Kate Garden, Commercial Director at IMG, emphasized the unique nature of this partnership: “The FIFA World Cup 26™ represents a truly global celebration of sport, and we’re pleased to support Princess Cruises in delivering an unforgettable viewing experience for fans on board. From private staterooms to open-air decks, guests will be able to enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of the tournament as we bring the spirit of the stadiums to sea next summer.”

Global Itineraries During Tournament Time

The coverage will extend across the globe, ensuring fans can catch the action regardless of their destination. Whether cruising through the fjords of Alaska or island-hopping in the Caribbean, the matches will be accessible.

Sample itineraries coinciding with the tournament include:

  • June 14, 2026: A 7-day Inside Passage to Alaska on Star Princess, sailing roundtrip from Seattle.
  • June 20, 2026: A 7-day Mediterranean voyage visiting Greece and the Adriatic on Sun Princess.
