MIAMI, 8 September 2026 – Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. has announced a $50,000 donation to Vibrant Hawaiʻi to support cleanup and recovery efforts following Hurricane Lala on Hawaiʻi Island.
The contribution will support the Hilo-based nonprofit as it works with Hawaiʻi County and community partners to coordinate assistance, distribute essential supplies and connect affected residents with recovery resources. Hurricane Lala brought destructive winds and torrential rainfall to Hawaiʻi Island, resulting in severe flooding, widespread power outages and significant damage to homes and critical infrastructure. The Kaʻū District was among the areas hardest hit by the storm.
Support directed to affected communities
NCLH said the donation forms part of its global Sail & Sustain® sustainability programme, under the Strengthening Our Communities pillar. The programme has five foundational pillars and covers the company’s efforts to support destinations and communities connected with its operations.

Vibrant Hawaiʻi coordinates recovery assistance
Vibrant Hawaiʻi is working directly with communities affected by the hurricane, with donations supporting immediate needs including cash assistance, food, water, ice, fuel, temporary connectivity and other essential supplies.
The organisation is also strengthening community Points of Distribution used to assist families during the recovery. The funding will be used within the recovery response coordinated by Vibrant Hawaiʻi and its partners, with support directed towards immediate household needs and community distribution efforts.

NCLH continues Hawaiʻi community support
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has longstanding ties with Hawaiʻi through its brands and operations and has previously supported disaster relief and community recovery efforts across the state.
The company operates Norwegian Cruise Line®, Oceania Cruises® and Regent Seven Seas Cruises®. Its combined fleet comprises 35 ships and approximately 75,000 berths, serving around 700 destinations worldwide.
NCLH expects to add 16 ships across its three brands through 2037, adding approximately 43,000 berths to its fleet. The $50,000 contribution to Vibrant Hawaiʻi will support community recovery work following Hurricane Lala.
