GENEVA, September 30, 2026 — MSC World Atlantic has touched water for the first time at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, marking another construction milestone for MSC Cruises’ next U.S. flagship.
The float-out took place this past week, moving the ship from the construction dock into the water for the next phase of completion ahead of its scheduled delivery in 2027. MSC World Atlantic is set to become the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and the fourth LNG vessel in the line’s World Class series.
Work continues after float-out
Following the float-out, the ship will remain at Chantiers de l’Atlantique while work continues on its interiors, public spaces and final technical elements.
MSC Cruises said MSC World Atlantic is designed to blend its signature European style with American comfort. The ship will have seven distinct districts, each offering its own atmosphere, facilities and entertainment. The cruise line said the onboard experience is intended to bring together cultures, flavours and styles from both sides of the Atlantic.
Caribbean sailings from November 2027
MSC World Atlantic will sail from Port Canaveral from November 2027, offering alternating seven-night and 14-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings to some of the region’s most iconic destinations.
The itineraries will include Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises’ private island in the Bahamas.
