MIAMI, 3 September 2026: Silversea has concluded its 2026 Alaska season after completing 30 voyages aboard Silver Moon and Silver Whisper between Vancouver, British Columbia, and Seward, Alaska, from 14 May to 3 September.
The two ships operated seven-night sailings in both directions through the Inside Passage, calling at 14 destinations during the season. Highlights ranged from glacier cruising at Hubbard Glacier and Icy Bay to kayaking, rail journeys and flightseeing excursions across the region.

Seven-night voyages link Vancouver and Seward
Across the 30 sailings, Silver Moon and Silver Whisper visited ports including Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Valdez, Haines, Metlakatla, Klawock and Whittier.
Wildlife sightings reported during the season included humpback whales, orcas, brown and black bears, bald eagles, Dall sheep and puffins. Shore experiences included a journey aboard a private White Pass & Yukon Route railcar from Skagway to the White Pass summit, accompanied by beverages, a regionally sourced appetiser and commentary on the Klondike Gold Rush.
In Juneau, guests could combine helicopter flightseeing over the Juneau Icefield with a landing at a glacier dog-sled camp. Other options included kayaking along Sitka Sound, an ATV journey from Haines through old logging roads in the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve and a floatplane flight over Misty Fjords National Monument from Ketchikan. Silversea also offered pre- and post-cruise Land Programs providing access to Denali National Park and Alaska rail routes, connecting with embarkation and disembarkation in Seward.
Seward terminal supports Alaska sailings
The 2026 season also used the new Dale R. and Carol Ann Lindsey Alaska Railroad Terminal in Seward, which opened in June. Developed by the Alaska Railroad, Royal Caribbean Group, The Seward Company and Turnagain Marine Construction, the terminal includes a floating pier with shore power capability and direct access to the Alaska Railroad. The facility supports cross-gulf itineraries linking Silversea voyages with pre- and post-cruise rail travel.
Royal Caribbean Group also continued its Port Partners Small Business Accelerator programme in Seward. In 2026, the company awarded a $20,000 grant to Exit Glacier Greenhouses, a local horticulture business seeking to expand access to fresh produce in the community.
Silversea schedules 29 Alaska voyages for 2027
Silversea plans to return to Alaska in 2027 with 29 voyages aboard Silver Moon and Silver Whisper from 27 May through early September. Several sailings will add scenic cruising through Tracy Arm and Sawyer Glacier, while Hubbard Glacier and Icy Bay will return to the programme. Planned shore experiences include a Taku Lodge salmon feast combined with five-glacier flightseeing in Juneau, sportfishing in Ketchikan and river rafting through Keystone Canyon in Valdez.
Among the highlighted 2027 itineraries is a seven-night Silver Moon sailing from Seward to Vancouver from 3 to 10 June, with calls including Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway and scenic cruising near Hubbard Glacier. A second highlighted voyage will sail from Vancouver to Seward from 19 to 26 August. The Silver Moon itinerary is set to call at Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, with glacier viewing that includes Hubbard Glacier and Tracy Arm.
