4 SEPTEMBER 2026: Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has opened its 2028 collection with three new ships, eight new European itineraries and a new Mystery Journey, with bookings now available across the programme, as detailed on the company’s official 2028 collection pages.
The three additions are S.S. Helen, S.S. Clara and Mekong Mystique. S.S. Helen will operate on the Danube, while S.S. Clara joins Uniworld’s Rhine fleet. Mekong Mystique will sail in Vietnam and Cambodia on the Mekong, where it will operate the 15-day Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong itinerary.
“2028 is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting year for Uniworld,” said Ellen Bettridge, president and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises. “We’re giving our guests the opportunity to see more, travel farther and experience some of our favorite destinations in entirely new ways.”
Bettridge said the expanded programme would give guests new ways to travel farther across Uniworld’s network, including extended journeys from Amsterdam to the Black Sea, seasonal itineraries in France and new Mekong sailings. She also highlighted the return of the company’s mystery-travel concept in the form of the new Mystery Journey.
Longer Journeys Added Across Central Europe
The longest of the eight new European itineraries is Amsterdam to the Black Sea, a 30-day journey from Amsterdam to Bucharest aboard S.S. Helen. Eastern Europe Exploration will operate for 25 days between Bucharest and Prague aboard S.S. Emilie and S.S. Helen, while the 18-day Danube East & West programme will connect Vienna and Bucharest aboard the same ships. The nine-day Empires of the Lower Danube itinerary will sail between Belgrade and Bucharest, also aboard S.S. Emilie and S.S. Helen.
Together, the new programmes add longer journeys through the Rhine, Main and Danube regions alongside shorter Lower Danube options.
Rhine and Holiday Itineraries Join Collection
S.S. Clara will operate the new eight-day Dutch & Flemish Treasures itinerary between Amsterdam and Antwerp, as well as the eight-day Moselle Holiday Markets programme between Trier and Düsseldorf.
France will gain two additional seasonal itineraries. The eight-day Rhone Winter Holiday aboard S.S. Catherine will operate between Arles and Lyon, while the 15-day Grand France Holiday will combine S.S. Catherine and S.S. Joie de Vivre on a programme between Paris and Arles.
The additions bring new winter and Christmas-season options to Uniworld’s existing European programme alongside the extended multi-country sailings.
Mekong Mystique Joins Asia Fleet
Mekong Mystique is scheduled to enter service in 2028 on the Mekong. The 68-guest ship will sail in Vietnam and Cambodia, with its design drawing inspiration from 1930s French Indochine style and the surrounding Mekong region.
The ship will join Mekong Jewel on Uniworld’s Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong programme, which operates between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
S.S. Helen and S.S. Clara will also enter service in 2028, adding capacity across the Danube and Rhine respectively.
Mystery Journey Planned for June 2028
Uniworld will introduce a new 11-day Mystery Journey beginning on 15 June 2028. The programme will combine travel by land and river, with most itinerary details remaining undisclosed before departure. The company has revealed only that guests will arrive through Luxembourg and finish their journey in Zürich. The Mystery Journey follows Uniworld’s earlier Mystery Cruise concept but extends the format beyond the river portion of the trip.
