MIAMI, Florida – June 11, 2026: Regent Seven Seas Cruises® has announced plans to enlarge and reconfigure selected accommodation aboard its three Explorer Class ships during scheduled dry docks in 2027 and 2028.
The changes will be introduced across Seven Seas Splendor®, Seven Seas Explorer® and Seven Seas Grandeur®, with each vessel’s maximum accommodation reduced from 373 suites to 344. The removal of 29 suites per ship will enable Regent to expand existing accommodation and introduce additional suite categories, according to the cruise line’s official press release.
Reduced Suite Capacity Across Explorer Class
Following the upgrades, all three ships will operate with the same revised maximum of 344 suites. Regent said the lower suite inventory will support a more spacious onboard experience while retaining the service associated with its Explorer Class fleet.

Regent’s Explorer Class ships were launched in 2016, 2020 and 2023.
The first work will take place aboard Seven Seas Splendor® when the ship enters dry dock in November 2027. Seven Seas Explorer® is scheduled to follow in April 2028, before Seven Seas Grandeur® undergoes its dry dock in October 2028.
Veranda Suites to Increase in Size
The project will substantially enlarge the ships’ Veranda Suites. The redesigned entry-level accommodation will range from 415 to 464 square feet, compared with the previous size of 307 square feet.
Each updated Veranda Suite will include a walk-in wardrobe, double vanities and a spacious private balcony. Regent describes the enlarged accommodation as the largest entry-level suites in the ultra-luxury cruise industry, alongside the Deluxe Veranda Suites aboard its Prestige Class ships.
Horizon Penthouse Suites Join Three Ships
A new Horizon Penthouse Suite category will also be added to the Explorer Class fleet. The suite type is due to make its first appearance aboard Seven Seas Prestige™ before being incorporated into Seven Seas Splendor®, Seven Seas Explorer® and Seven Seas Grandeur®.
Horizon Penthouse Suites will range from 616 to 722 square feet and include oversized balconies. The interior layout will feature a separate bedroom, a full bathroom suite and a spacious living area, combining indoor accommodation with expanded private outdoor space.
The category will extend a suite concept developed for Regent’s Prestige Class into the existing Explorer Class ships as part of their scheduled accommodation upgrades.
Three Distinctive Suites Added Per Vessel
Each ship will also receive three additional Distinctive Suites measuring between 821 and 918 square feet. These suites will include a bedroom with a king-size Elite Slumber™ Bed, separate sitting and dining areas, one-and-a-half marble-and-stone-appointed bathrooms and a large private balcony.
The accommodation will carry a ship-specific name. It will be known as the Explorer Suite aboard Seven Seas Explorer®, the Splendor Suite aboard Seven Seas Splendor® and the Grandeur Suite aboard Seven Seas Grandeur®.
Amenities listed for the new suites include fresh orchid arrangements, cashmere blankets, in-suite caviar service, a choice of pillow styles and personal butler service.
The phased programme will begin with Seven Seas Splendor® in November 2027 and conclude with Seven Seas Grandeur® in October 2028, following the Seven Seas Explorer® refit in April of that year.
